Are you addicted to your phone?

I don't know about you, but since 2014 I've been using an iPhone. A few years ago, they added a feature that tracked my screen time. At my peak, I was spending close to 5 hours per day on my phone!
One symptom was that I experienced Nomophobia, or fear of being without my device, even when it was in my pocket. I also noticed heightened agitation and irritability whenever someone (usually my spouse) wanted my attention. It was that I had to come to grips with a simple truth: I was addicted to my smartphone.
One of my favorite movie series when I was a kid was the Austin Powers trilogy. The comic genius, Mike Meyers, had his talent on full display in his James Bond'esque spy satire. In the second movie, his arch nemesis, Dr. Evil (played by Meyers), sends his minion Fat Bastard (also played by Meyers) back in time to steal Austin Power's "mojo."
This month our Mastery program has been focused on technology and its impact on health. The promise of this technological age has been, from the beginning, that its increasing usage would improve our quality of life and lift billions of global citizens out of poverty. But for all its promise, it has come with clear and increasing harm to our overall health and wellbeing.
